When parents think of relaxing family holidays, their first thought is often about their children. Trip planning for families with children of different ages becomes vitally important for a successful holiday.
In the Family Vacation Critic article, Leslie Overton, a specialist in family travel in Asia and managing director of a travel tour company, says “the key to making everyone happy is finding a place that can offer great relaxation, physical activities and cultural interest.” She recommends finding a great city hotel with an indoor pool and visiting stimulating tour areas, anything that will get your children moving. Often parents try to avoid cultural experiences because they feel it can be overwhelming or boring for their children. However, children often enjoy being around different people, learning unfamiliar customs and exploring new boundaries. So by all means, immerse your family in another culture. Overton also says a strong support system for younger ones, and plenty of activities for older kids will go far in providing a satisfying experience for everyone in the family.
