The Yew Chung’s Family Science Magic Night and the Science Workshop – “Mighty Magnets” last year drew so much attention and received overwhelming responses. We are so glad that parents and students have learnt science fun through many hands-on activities and experiments in the past activities. We intend to do more to encourage our students to be curious and motivate them to explore and find answers!
This year, riding on the previous success, Scientist-in-Residence and Parent and Alumni Relations Division will jointly present a new Science Family Night “ROCKETS” in February.
Did you or your child ever wonder how space shuttles are launched into the space? If so, then this year’s Science Family Night “ROCKETS” is tailor-made for you!
For an object to move, it normally needs something to push against, but there is no air in space. So, how do rockets move there? Rockets work by a scientific rule called Newton’s third law of motion. Come and join our Science Family Night, wherein you will learn about this law of motion. Using this physics concept, participants will be launching their mini-rockets.
Do you think that you can propel your mini-rocket the furthest distance? Are you ready to go on this adventure? It’s a magnificent event you don’t want to miss!
